Water Restoration

Fan EquipmentK2 Environmental, Inc. is a full service water restoration company with IICRC Certified technicians. Rapid response is the key to preventing further damage when it comes to water in a structure. IICRC S500 procedural standards and modern equipment are essential to proper water damage restoration. K2 Environmental, Inc. will always follow the IICRC S500 practical standards and we have the latest in water restoration equipment including infrared cameras, Low Grain Dehumidification, Desiccant Dehumidification, Specialized drying chambers, and turbo high velocity drying fans.

SEWAGE DAMAGED STRUCTURES

Infrared Image of Mold on WallThe IICRC S500 and S520 provide procedural standards and references for the proper treatment of sewage damaged structures and contents. These references are based on reliable remediation, drying and restoration principles, research and practical experience. The Category 3 ("black water") standards in the S500 are written to provide safe, efficient, and practical guidlines to handle complex sewage issues, while minimizing the risk to technicians and occupants.

No two sewage losses are exactly alike. The technicians and team leaders at K2 Environmental have the experience and knowledge to contain the loss area, engineer proper controls to prevent further contamination, develop a controlled demolition plan to remove contaminated porous materials, and properly mitigate the sewage contamination to ensure the safety of the structure. We work closely with Indoor Air Quality Consultants to ensure that proper work practices have been followed and to verify the success of the remedial efforts through air and surface sampling.

WHAT IS THE IICRC?  WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE AN IICRC CONTRACTOR?

  • You can depend on an IICRC Contractor to do the job right.
  • The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is an independent certification body established in 1972 to improve standards in the restoration industry.
  • The IICRC symbol is your assuranace that the men and women who proudly display it are skilled professionals.
  • IICRC certification cannot be purchased. It is earned through study, experience, and successful completion of formal written examinations.

IICRC S500

Photo of Water Damaged FloorThe IICRC S500 is a procedural standard. It is based on reliable restoration principles, research and practical experience. In addition, there has been extensive consultation and information obtained from numerous sources. These include, but are not necessarily limited to, the scientific community, the international, national and regional trade associations that service the professional disaster restoration industry, chemical formulators and equipment manufacturers, cleaning and restoration training schools, restoration service companies, the insurance industry, allied trades persons and others with specialized experience.

Photo of Plastic Containment WallsThe IICRC S500 provides a specific set of practical standards for water damage restoration. It does not attempt to teach comprehensive water damage restoration procedures; rather it provides the foundation for basic principles of proper restoration practices. IICRC S500 does not attempt to include exhaustive performance characteristics or standards for the manufacture or installation of structural components, materials and contents (personal property).
